Screening Process

All agencies conduct some form of basic screening –  we add an additional layer to this, putting you completely at ease. We are constantly adding steps in order to keep up with industry standards, and improving our selection process to ensure we are finding the best mannies out there. We are affiliated with the International Nanny Association and follow their strict guidelines. We also comply fully with CALIFORNIA CODES HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 1596.60-1596.68 via TrustLine to provide the absolute best protection for your children and your family, click here to see laws that apply to employment agencies.

“With today’s technology  it’s all too easy for a job applicant to use someone else’s identity, provide false references, or embellish their previous experience. According to some studies, as many as 35% of people who have applied for a job have lied on their resume. When it comes to finding a manny who will spend a significant part of their day with your children, you have to be 100% certain they are honest and trustworthy”

Application Form & Resume

We review all candidate application forms & resumes.  We are looking for detailed and qualified experience, along with any gaps in employment. We are also sure to check for spelling errors and grammar.  If there’s little care and attention into how they’re presented on paper, this tells us a lot about them as a person.

Telephone Interview

The resume & application have been approved – now one of our recruiters will reach out to the candidate to chat briefly about who they are and what they’re looking for. In addition to their dedication to childcare, we are listening out for a clear speaking, friendly voice, with confidence and intelligence.

Childcare Aptitude Test

It is paramount to ensure that our mannies have the experience they claim. Whether their experience is minimal, or runs the gamut, this test is a great way to get a sense of what they know, and how extensive their experience with childcare is.

Face to Face Interview

During this meeting we discuss in more detail what they’re looking for, and review  their resume & application together. A wide variety of questions and prompts that we’ve compiled will allow us to get to know them better as a person, and to gauge their morals and ethics. Here we are also identifying how serious they are about a position, discovering any alternate agendas, and seeking an idea as to what type of family would be a good fit for their personality.

References Checked by Phone

We require a minimum of three child care references. Each reference is contacted and asked a list of premeditated questions, (along with anything you would like to know). In closing the conversation, we ask the reference to speak openly about the candidate. Here we are getting a feel for the responses given and also how they are said – it is easy to spot somebody speaking from the heart from someone saying what they feel we want to hear.

Background Checks

We have the most thorough checking system around and use multiple sources to cross-check our findings. Below is a selection of the checks you can pick and choose from

  • Sex Offenders Registry Search
  • Social Security Number Verification
  • Global Watchlist Search
  • National Criminal Search
  • Federal Criminal Search
  • County Criminal Search
  • Auto Insurance Check
  • Social Media Check
  • Motor Vehicle Search
  • Credit Score Check
  • National Alias Search
  • Education Verification
